West Essex Highlands

West Essex Highlands in Danger

Drive West up Eagle Rock Avenue, towards Roseland, and off to the right you'll be sure to notice the large, expansive and thriving forest home to thousands of trees, and the wildlife that makes this forest their home.

West Essex Highlands faces a threat to our way of life and the environment with the potential development of over 700 rental units to be built on the wooded parcel adjacent to our community, following the N.J. Supreme Court Ruling regarding Fair Share Affordable Housing throughout the state. Additional New Construction in our township will CERTAINLY mean higher taxes for all of us. Come hear how this impacts you and your home value.

Our Green West Orange is proud to stand alongside these neighbors, and support their efforts to keep their West Orange Green, Safe and Affordable. At stake is the loss of an estimated 5,000 trees, with 700 rental units on 50 acres of forested land.
