The application for an expansion of Daughters of Israel that would have caused the destruction of hundreds of trees on steep slopes, six years of construction noise, out-of-scale development, and burdensome traffic was shot down by the Zoning Board last week. This was a for-profit package wrapped in a non-profit structure. Hundreds more residents paying absolutely NO taxes to West Orange. West Orange got a break from senseless overdevelopment.
